Whilst trawling through the internet looking for interesting scooter related stuff it seems its only us Brits who ride their scooters to the pub. Nice little clip though, well done STARBUCKS.

Whitley Bay

Found this on youtube, like it says its from 1989. My first national rally was whitley bay 1991 but the some of the images from this clip are just like my memories. Such as the police road block, I think it was Stigger who produced his CBT to the police, to which they replied" whats one of these?" There`s some good riding shots on here though, just think how old some of people are on this clip, early 20`s probably or maybe teens. Don`t get down hearted though, we`re all still so young!!!

Old Holborn

Scooters tend to get passed around between club members or local riders & this one is no exception. I first spotted it in the window of Len`s Scooters Shipley around 1991 when i had my first vespa & Len`s was one of only a few local dealers. Fast foward to the end of the 90`s when the other Len (Dahma Bums s.c. , not Lens scooters ) bought it from a guy in brighouse. Len kept it & messed around with it for a few years until selling it to me as a non runner in about 2002. Club member Blaggy got involved & with his help we got back on the road. I ran it for a few years until passing it on to another club member, Pants. Currently still owned by Pants although i think it could be making an appearance on ebay in the near future.

Big Wednesday

Managed to make it down to the club meeting last night. There was a good turn out & it was good to be out again on a warm evening. We had a cool little ride into Holmfirth & went to Hervey`s wine bar which is an excellent spot to park up & have a little drink. Very sophisticated!

Little tykes

Originally some years ago I wanted to do a fanzine based loosely around H.S.C. & scooter related stuff. That was when I had more time on my hands but chose to spend it in a less constructive way....although it was fun....So thats how the blog has come about, kind of an on-line fanzine. The problem is finding stuff to post everyday without talking about trivial stuff unless you want to hear about work etc, which you don`t! So in the meantime I`ll try to put up anything I think you`ll find mildly interesting like things I`ve found in the garage....so here goes..
Here`s something i`ve found in my garage

An original Tykes S.C. backrest plaque from sometime in the 70`s. It was given to me by Steve Binns, an old workmate, who painted it himself when he was the number one. By coincidence my next place of work had an old Tykes member too...and they both switched from scooters to motorcycles.....and they both knew each other............and!......................................zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Where does this bit go?

Time to read Sticky`s book very carefully & replace the drive side oil seal. while the engine is stripped may aswell do all seals & bearings too.

So in the the meantime i`ve got this to ride. Nice to be back on a vespa!
